Product Description
Ceramic-lined steel pipe elbows are designed for high-wear sections of abrasive conveying pipelines. When the material flow changes direction at an elbow, particles can repeatedly impact the inner wall, making bends one of the areas most likely to suffer concentrated wear.
ELACERA ceramic-lined elbows combine a steel pipe body with a wear-resistant alumina ceramic lining. The steel shell provides structural strength, while the ceramic lining protects the material-contact surface from abrasion.
The elbow angle, bending radius, steel pipe size, ceramic thickness and connection type can be customized according to the approved drawing and actual operating conditions.

Product Structure and Customization
The ceramic lining is installed on the inner surface of the steel elbow to form a wear-resistant material-contact layer.
Depending on the pipe diameter, elbow geometry, and working conditions, the ceramic layout can be designed according to the project drawing. For customized production, the following dimensions should normally be confirmed:
| Design Item | Available Options |
|---|---|
| Elbow Angle | Customized |
| Bending Radius | According to drawing |
| Steel Pipe Material | Carbon steel / Stainless steel |
| Steel Thickness | According to design |
| Ceramic Thickness | According to wear conditions |
| Connection | Flange / Welding / Customized |
| Finished Internal Diameter | According to project requirements |
This drawing-based approach is especially important when the ceramic-lined elbow must connect directly with existing pipelines or equipment.
Product Features
The main advantage of an alumina ceramic-lined elbow is not simply the hardness of the ceramic. The lining must also match the flow path and the geometry of the bend.
The 95% alumina ceramic provides a hard, wear-resistant surface, while the steel body maintains the mechanical strength of the pipe fitting. The smooth ceramic contact surface is suitable for abrasive powders and granular materials, and different ceramic thicknesses can be selected according to the expected wear level.
For areas with concentrated wear, the ceramic layout or thickness can be adjusted according to the operating conditions and approved drawing.
Applications
Ceramic-lined steel pipe elbows are commonly used in pneumatic and bulk-material conveying systems in cement plants, thermal power plants, steel mills, mining and mineral processing, coal handling, chemical processing and lithium battery material production.
Typical conveyed materials include cement powder, fly ash, pulverized coal, mineral fines, ash, abrasive powders, and other bulk solids.
They are especially suitable for pipeline bends where conventional steel elbows are subject to frequent abrasion and replacement.
Information Required for Quotation
For a more accurate technical assessment and quotation, please provide the pipe or elbow drawing together with the conveying material and operating conditions.
Useful information includes pipe diameter, elbow angle and radius, steel material and thickness, ceramic thickness, conveyed material, particle size, operating temperature, pressure and conveying velocity.
If the finished internal diameter is critical to the system, please indicate it clearly on the drawing.
FAQ
Q1: What ceramic material is used inside the elbow?
A1: Our standard wear-resistant lining is 95% alumina ceramic. Other ceramic materials can be evaluated according to the working conditions.
Q2: Can the elbow size and radius be customized?
A2: Yes. Elbow angle, radius, pipe diameter, steel thickness, ceramic thickness, and connection type can be manufactured according to drawings.
Q3: Where does the most serious wear normally occur in an elbow?
A3: In many abrasive conveying systems, wear is concentrated around the outer arc because particles change direction and impact the bend surface. The actual wear pattern depends on material characteristics and conveying conditions.
Q4: What information should be provided before production?
A4: A pipe drawing is preferred. Conveying material, particle size, velocity, operating temperature, and pressure are also useful for selecting the ceramic lining.
Q5: Can ceramic lined elbows be supplied with flanges?
A5: Yes. Flanged, welded, and other customized connections can be supplied according to the project drawing.
